THE CARNIVAL ROOM

The Carnival room as my husband likes to call it, lol. Well folks, here it is, Ty and TBear's room. Like before, when designing a room, I needed to find some inspiration first. I never wanted the room to be overly boyish or girlish. Therefore, I searched Pinterest for ideas on shared boy/girl rooms.

Pinterest helped me to come up with the idea for the stripes on the wall, but I still had no idea what colors I should pick. I love that the stripes keep with a set design but help break up the room between the two. To help come up with the colors in their room, I began to search for bedding. That is when I found their chevron bedding online; it was fate. I found the same design but in two different colors. How awesome is that! From there I was able to find wall colors at Lowes. Matching cubed storage bins, lamp, curtains, and a rug at Target. We purchased their beds, (bunk bed) from Walmart. Repainted their old dresser, and got their cubed shelf at Bed Bath & Beyond. Add, in some toys, a white and gray chevron hamper from their Aunt Roxy, old canvases from when they were babies, and some new artwork made by mom, and Walla; we had a bedroom fit for a boy and girl.

With their room being a bit small, we had to make things work the best we could. Therefore, small toys go in bins, big toys go under their beds, and we said see you later to their closet door. Instead, we opted for a curtain and it has worked very well for us. Take a look, and let me know what you think.
