Talk about a wild and crazy morning. Papa is still working third shifts, leaving me to get the girls ready for church by myself. Tabby was all dressed, Ellie was taken care of, and all I needed to do was brush my teeth. I turned around and my closet door was open; I find Tabitha in her brother's room watching Buzzbee, and with my change cup in her hands. I asked her, "What are you doing?" She turns her head and I can tell she has something in her mouth. I tell her to spit it out, and all of my change and button batteries start falling out of her mouth. I lost it because I have seen the facebook posts on what button batteries can do to children if swallowed. As I am searching her mouth, she is biting me and Papa is walking in the door. I tell him what happened, we start searching for the third battery (we still can not find) and Papa tries to look in her mouth. Next thing I know, Papa scoops her up and we are out the door to the Emergency room.
I don't think we have ever been in and out of a hospital so fast in my life. Walked in, triaged right away, sent back to a room, got her in a gown, as soon as she was dressed we were rushed to x-ray and boom, no button battery. THANK GOD!!!!! The staff was truly amazing and so kind, one of the nurses even prayed with us. Even though we got in and out so fast, we missed most of the church service and both Papa and I were both starving, so out to lunch we went, came home and everyone passed out. Tabitha is our "toddleriest" toddler we have ever had, and oh boy is she exhausting.
So, to sum up, our day. No church, no button batteries, an x-ray, lots of suckers, a lunch date, and an afternoon nap.
