DAY 50: 10.11.2020
Today I am thankful I am frugal and creative. Halloween costumes are expensive, especially when you have what is considered a large family. We always do theme Halloween costumes, thank goodness my children do not mind, they actually enjoy it. Well, my biggest struggle this year was I could not decide on a theme, I wanted to do A League of their own, but the costumes cost too much and would not have come in on time. I went to a pop-up Halloween store and just for random costumes they were charging, $35/ $40. With four children, you are looking to spend almost $150. I am sorry but I can't justify doing that for something they are not going to wear that often. My girls play dress up but my son not so much, so the costumes just end up sitting in the dress-up bin collecting dust. So, I googled, cheap easy Halloween costumes, and it hit me, do cops and robbers. I was able to get the all-black outfits for the girls for $33.47 and the best part is, they can reuse each piece of clothing, add in Ty's costume and the masks, my total came to $58.89. I will go to the fabric store and get some black yarn to make the girls robber hats and their Aunt Roxy will be looking for canvas drawstring bags, all I will need to do is draw the money signs on them. So, when everything is all said and done, I should be under $65. I think that is pretty darn good and I am pretty proud of myself.
*** I wanted to get all black hoodies for the girls as well but darn those things are expensive, $15 a hoodie and I need three. I will need to figure out another way to keep the girls warm if it is a colder day. lol
